Sources of Logs:
Mainly local forests, various forest owners. The logs are obtained from a number of forest areas. In some cases the forest areas are owned by the German Government, in others by the Church or by commercial business. In all cases the forest owners have to adhere to the strict German Laws relating to Forestry.

Equipment:
The sawmill has always kept up to date with demand by investing in modern equipment and facilities. Debarking machine, forklifts, vacuum lifts, steamer, kilns, storage sheds, edging line producing parallel edged planking after kilning, a sawdust/wood waste burning boiler which supplies the necessary heat for the kilns and steamer, and also provided heating for the workers inside the sawmill.
Equipment for the production of cut to size parts was installed during the Winter 08/09. For many customers this has been a useful addition because many companies want to be able to cost accurately the material entering the production line.
The sawmill has a number of its own lorries to load, collect and transport logs from
the forest to the log-
The sawmill and the yard has a solid surface. This allows a number of modern forklifts to travel around without being bogged down in mud.

To cut the logs, the sawmill has a bandsaw for cutting the larger logs, and also a framesaw that although much older, is also very reliable.
After cutting, the planking is either prepared for steaming in the modern steamer
or sticked for air drying in the yard. Once the material that is steamed exits the
steamer it is also sticked for air drying. Once sufficiently air-
After kilning, some planking is put through the modern parallel edging line. This line is fitted with equipment to measure and mark each edged board with the length and width measurement.
As well as producing planking and cut to size parts, squares (turning blanks), are
also cut, mainly in the following thicknesses, 32/38/51/63mm. Popular lengths for
squares are in the range 610-

Shipment:
By trailer direct to the UK, or by container to other destinations around the world. Deliveries to the UK are on a through trailer delivery basis, direct from the sawmill to the importers yard usually as a full load. Significant quantity part loads can be arranged providing there is another customer located nearby that also requires a part load at the same time.
The supply is often on a planned forward contract basis, in order for a customer to get the goods he wants when he wants them. But stocks held at the sawmill often allow prompt availability for shipment at short notice.
In addition, Team BaRo can supply to customers around the world. However, when supplying to customers worldwide there is the possibility of misunderstanding the qualities that are available. Therefore it is desirable to arrange for a visit to the sawmill, to establish what is expected by each party.
